Screenings
9/27/09: Fantastic Fest Screening: GROPER TRAIN: WEDDING CAPRICCIO!
9/30/09: Fantastic Fest Screening: S&M HUNTER!
Hey Pink Eiga Fans!
We’re back with some exciting screening news! At the end of this month we will have two screenings at the totally rad, FANTASTIC FEST, in Austin, Texas!
Besides the fact that both S&M HUNTER and GROPER TRAIN: WEDDING CAPRICCIO are both really fun films to see with a crowd, for us, the Austin screening is a kind of homecoming.
Was it a year ago that we had our first PINK EIGA public screening? Woah! We had such a good time last year and the reception was so good, that it gave us the drive to push forward with our humble PINK EIGA DVD label.
So if you’re planning on coming to FANTASTIC FEST, make sure to say hi to us. We’ll be there, in support of both movies!
See you in Austin!

8/13/09: LA Screening of NEW TOKYO DECADENCE: THE SLAVE!

Hey PINK EIGA fans!
This Thursday night at 9pm at ROYAL/T in Culver City, we’ll be having a screening and talk about NEW TOKYO DECADENCE: THE SLAVE. This is part of something naughty** called ‘Nikyuyoku’ (That’s ‘desires of the flesh,’ for those who don’t know Japanese) that we were invited to participate in.
Since it’s local, a few members of the PINK EIGA team will be down there talking about all things Pink Eiga as well as answering questions about the film.
More info can be found at the ROYAL/T website. (RSVP for the event is required.)
See you there!
** Although in what way, we’re not entirely sure… Rumors have it that there will be live BDSM demostrations. Like, really??
Fantasia Screenings This Week! (July 20th & 23rd)

Hi guys,
If you’re up in Montreal or anywhere near there then come on down for the S&M Hunter screenings that we’re having this week as part of the FANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL. Programmed by Midnight Eye’s Jasper Sharpe and Harvey Fenton of FAB Press, these will be fun shows to check out. And let me tell you, if you haven’t watched the lasso throwing, Shibari wizardry of S&M Hunter as he battles a group of perky breasted girl gang members, then you haven’t seen anything yet. Naturally, this kind of lunacy is more enjoyable with a crowd, so don’t miss out on this rare chance to see this film!
The screenings are July 20th (730pm) and 23rd (215pm) at the Salle J.A. De Sève (1400 de Maisonneuve O.).

SPECIAL EVENTS
PINK POWER: PINK EIGA PRESENTS JAPAN’S UNKNOWN FILM INDUSTRY
Japanese pink films are the last bastion of analog filmmaking in a digital world: soft-core, sixty-minute sex films shot on film, edited on flatbeds and released theatrically. They’ve been around since the 60’s and not only have many mainstream directors gotten their start shooting pink films (including Kiyoshi Kurosawa), but 2009’s Academy Award winning director, Yojiro Takita (“Departures”), has a long string of pink films on his resume, and we’re showing two of them. We’ll be screening two double features in association with US-based pink film distributor Pink Eiga, who have begun releasing these treasures on DVD in the US this year.
Program #1: Friday, June 19, at 11:30 pm at the IFC Center
This includes Yojiro Takita’s ridiculous “The Groper Train: Search for the Black Pearl,” and the hilariously bawdy send-up of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s “Teorema, The Japanese Wife Next Door, Part 1,” directed by Yutaka Ikejima.
Program #2: Friday, June 26, at 11:55 pm at the IFC Center
This includes Yojiro Takita’s “The Groper Train: Wedding Capriccio,” and the comedy drama “Blind Love,” directed by Daisuke Goto.
Daisuke Goto, the director of “Blind Love,” and Masahide Iioka, the cinematographer, are expected to attend the festival and introduce the screenings.
