Hey Pink Eiga fans!

It’s with great excitement (and some disbelief!) that PINK EIGA, INC is celebrating its first birthday. As of January 14th 2010 we turned one year old and while we’ve actually been operating for longer than that, the 14th is the anniversary of the day that we officially opened for business one year ago. Woah!

We're just learning how to walk!

So check this out, here’re three cool things that we’ve accomplished in the first year:

1. 10 awesome Pink Eiga releases!
2. 13,000 DVDs printed and almost 9,000 units sold!
3. Nearly a dozen film festival screenings!

There’s little question that we couldn’t have reached these heights if it weren’t for our fans and supporters out there. So thank you so much for helping us reach our first birthday!

In dog years we’d be seven and would be a rambunctious mutt, but in human years we’re only one and are now just learning how to walk. Welcome to Pink Eiga’s toddler years!

We just got back from an incredible time at the excellent Austin Fantastic Fest 2009! Our upcoming release, GROPER TRAIN: WEDDING CAPRICCIO (by Best Foreign Film Oscar winner Yojiro Takita for DEPARTURES) played to an enthusiastic audience on Sunday and we’ve just received a link to Karina Longworth’s great review of the screening she did for the SPOUT BLOG. Hey Pink Eiga Fans!

We’re back with some exciting screening news! At the end of this month we will have two screenings at the totally rad, FANTASTIC FEST, in Austin, Texas!

Besides the fact that both S&M HUNTER and GROPER TRAIN: WEDDING CAPRICCIO are both really fun films to see with a crowd, for us, the Austin screening is a kind of homecoming.

Was it a year ago that we had our first PINK EIGA public screening? Woah! We had such a good time last year and the reception was so good, that it gave us the drive to push forward with our humble PINK EIGA DVD label.

So if you’re planning on coming to FANTASTIC FEST, make sure to say hi to us. We’ll be there, in support of both movies!

GROPER TRAIN: WEDDING CAPRICCIO Screening INFO.

Hey friends,

Just about two weeks back we had our first PINK EIGA LA screening. We screened NEW TOKYO DECADENCE: THE SLAVE, and it was a rousing success! We had more than 80 people watch the film out of the 120 or so people who showed up for the Japanology event.

Was it a good time? Well, let me ask you: does drinking beer, discussing sex and kink in a Japanese maid cafe sound like torture?

Here’s the incriminating evidence of the nights festivities. In some of the shots you can see Ayumu and Nick from PINK EIGA talking all smart-like about the film.
