Ikejima Yutaka

Yutaka Ikejima is the definitive actor, director, and producer of Pink Eiga. For his respectable contribution to the Pink Eiga industry, he is called Mr. Pink.

Ikejima was born March 30th, 1948. When he was 20 years old, he joined a theater company called Tenjo Sajiki (established by Shuji Terayama) and learned to act. Later, he worked as an assistant director for internationally renowned filmmaker, Masahiro Shinoda (director of Sharaku and MacArthur’s Children).

He then began to work on Pink Eigas as an actor in 1981, and has since acted in over 500. 10 years after his Pink Eiga acting debut, he directed his first Pink Eiga. He has directed over 100 Pink Eigas to date.
Ikejima has also established his own production company, Cement Match, and produced Daisuke Goto’s (director of “A Lonely Cow Weeps at Dawn” and “Blind Love”) films and Shigeo Moriyama’s films. Additionally, he and his production company produce theater plays.
In a newspaper interview, he said, “This [Pink Eiga] is my lifework because it lets me earn money, play leading roles and touch naked women.”
