Yota Kawase

Yota Kawase is one of the most successful actors in the world of Pink Eiga. He was born in Kawasaki-city, Japan, on December 28th, 1969. He wanted to be a designer and attended design school. After he graduated from design school, he worked on promotional videos, and later he started working on film productions. He met Pink Eiga directors and staff by chance, at the film production facility. One of these directors asked him to act as a lead character due to a budget shortage. This was his first acting experience. Soon after, Pink Eiga director, Takahisa Zeze cast him as one of the main characters for his film, “Endless Sex.” Since his debut, he has acted in many Pink Eiga films and has become a reputable actor of Pink Eiga.
"Blind Love"
He was awarded the Best Actor prize at the Pink Eiga Film Festival for his debut performance in “Endless Sex,” despite having hardly had any acting experience. He has received the award three more times. In addition, he was recognized as Best New Actor, by Kinema Junpo (the most distinguished film magazine in Japan) in 1995. It is so rare that a Pink Eiga actor would be awarded by this magazine because of its prestige and long conservative history. Many directors like to cast him for his ability to play a range of characters, from comical to serious.
